About Harveys Beach

Harveys Beach is pretty much attached to the town of Old Saybrook in Middlesex County, Connecticut. With a shore front as narrow as the one it has (it's only a hundred yards long), one would think that there is little merit to swinging by Harvey's Beach. But with its bright white sands most certainly make it one of the prettier beaches in the area. The water here is also quite shallow, so toddlers can enjoy tramping and wading without you having to worry about them drowning three feet into the bay (although we must point out that the water can be a little bit choppy, so it's still best to keep an eye on your kids while they're going on with their aquatic games).

There is a fee for spending some time in Harveys beach for the day, but it's nothing too substantial, and that's good considering that part of the amenities this beach has would be lifeguard services in-season, parking spaces, a bathhouse, lavatories, a playground and concession stands. Not too many people come to Harveys Beach because they favor bigger, more exotic beaches – but that's fine with us, because this means that Harveys Beach is a lot less crowded and more likely to be free and private than other beaches. In other words, it's a good place to just relax and have fun.
